My dream as a little girl and was supported by my mom and dad was to teach dance. Mom put me in dance at the age of 2 and I have been in love ever since. I have performed in the classical ballets Nutcracker, Copellia, Swan Lake and Raymonda. Training has been a constant in my life from Joe Tremain and staff, to Susana Benividez, Tanju Tuzer, Dominic and Hawk, Austin Hula Instructors, Richmond Virginia Adult Dance Camp, and Rhee Gold. My Dad said " You have to have Backup" when I was in collage, so he helped my plan out Rio Grand Valley Arts Studio. The only full performing arts studio south of Austin Texas. Our Hallways are full of music, movement, art and dance. Many families have the entire family taking classes. I love to train the future dance instructor. Many of our students have gone on to be professional dancers with the Tennessee Ballet and the National Dutch Ballet. Some are now teaching dance in their towns. It gives me great joy when they come back and visit. Yr 30 was spectacular , we had a reunion dance and over 24 dancers came home to dance together. RGVAS offers many scholarships, from working scholarships to performance scholarships. God has given me a purpose and Teaching dance to young and old is my purpose and I take it very seriously.
